This map shows USDA-licensed commercial dog breeders across Illinois counties in 2021. Sourced directly from the USDA database, this map provides data on kennel locations, as well as the number of adult dogs and puppies, taken from each breeder’s 2021 inspection report.
The largest population of USDA dogs and puppies is seen in the Southern Illinois counties of Douglas and Moultrie, particularly within the Arthur, Arcola, Sullivan and Tuscola Illinois areas. These areas have a higher density of USDA-licensed dog breeding facilities.
