Pawrade.com is a website that lists for hundreds of puppies for sale. Pawrade.com is located at 186 Seven Farms Dr #249 Charleston, SC 29492. Pawrade.com was founded in 2020 and is a “sister” website to NextDayPets.com. Pawrade.com only lists puppies for sale from what they call Signature breeders. NextDayPets.com lists puppies for sale from Signature breeders, and other listings in their Marketplace and Assurance listing programs. Pawrade.com and NextDayPets.com are associated with the online payment system PetPay.com.

Why we do not recommend buying a puppy from Pawrade.com

Pawrade.com lists hundreds of puppies for sale on their website. We do not endorse ever buying a puppy online or from a website that lists hundreds of puppies for sale. This is a red flag. This website seems to act as a middleman or broker of sorts connecting families to the breeders they use to supply their puppies.

Pawrade.com states a “No Puppy Mill Pledge” on their website and they also say they have a “Zero Tolerance” for unethical breeders. Many online puppy selling websites have claims such as these, it’s common to see and it’s all very subjective.

Just because a breeder is licensed, does not mean they take good care of their dogs or breed to improve the offspring. We recommend never buying a puppy from a picture and always meet the mother dog and where she lives.

Pawrade.com offers Zoom video chats so you can see the puppy, meet the breeder or the breeders representative and get your questions answered. But, Pawrade.com has policies where they will not let you know breeder information before you pay for the puppy, even a state license number for the breeder. Video chats, videos and photos do not take the place of seeing firsthand.

They have to give them your money before they will give you breeder information which makes it impossible to do your homework and research where your puppy is coming from. We do not feel this puppy buying process is transparent.

Also, in order to reserve a puppy, their PetPay system requires your private information yet they won’t tell you where your puppy is coming from. This seems like a conflict of interest to us in addition to the transaction not being transparent.

We went through the puppy buying process with them and they refused to give breeder information. They would not give even the breeder’s license number. We did a video chat with the breeder but they would not show us the mother dog or where she and the other breeding dogs lived. This is a red flag.

We found out who the breeder we were video chatting with was. This breeder is a high volume breeder who is licensed by the state to have over 250 breeding dogs. This breeder also has their own online website that sells puppies. That says it all.

Pawrade.com is associated with the online puppy payment Petpay.com. This is their online payment system. Petpay request a Photo ID to verify that your Photo Id and address matches the billing address of the credit or debit card used to reserve the puppy. They want all of your info but you have to trust them that they are not selling you a puppy from a puppy mill. Red flag.

Lastly, Pawrade.com is also a “sister” website of NextDayPets.com. NextDayPets.com was founded in 2003. The NextDayPets.com website for the most part is like Craigslist where puppy sellers can list their own puppies for sale, in addition to “Signature” listings with the same breeders as Pawrade.

We caution anyone who is looking to buy a puppy online. We do not recommend buying a puppy based off a picture ever and we never recommend buying a puppy from a website or meeting a breeder in a parking lot, zoom call or having the puppy shipped to you directly by truck or nanny. We do not recommend buying a puppy from the Pawrade.com website.

What happens at a puppy mill?

Puppy mills are any dog breeder that puts profit over the health and well-being of the breeding dogs and puppies produced. These breeders vary in size from small breeders — ten to twenty dogs — to very large breeders that have hundreds of breeding dogs. Puppy mills are legal, and some are licensed by the USDA.

To maximize profit, female dogs are kept pregnant, bred at every heat cycle to produce as many puppies as possible. The breeding dogs are usually kept in wire cages, many times stacked. The breeding dogs are not groomed, they are not given opportunity to exercise, nor do they know the touch of a loving hand.

The dogs are denied basic veterinary care, and most are living and breeding with painful conditions such as urinary tract infections, ear infections, rotten teeth, infected eyes, tumors, infected mammary glands, and sore feet from standing on wire cage floors — that never get addressed. It is important to know that any breeder can be a puppy mill. It’s hard to imagine the breeder you are talking or texting with could be a puppy mill.
